Ubud is a friendly village hosting a lot of tradition, shopping, music, art, yoga and food experiences. With it’s cental location, the village is also conveniently close to other Bali areas including mountains, beaches, Kuta and Bali’s capital Denpasar.
Below is an overview of some Ubud activites and links to external websites. Our staff can recommend activities based on your interests and budget, and arrange the transport.
There are also several free magazines that you can grab when you arrive to Ubud.

Most of the shops are located along the streets of Hanoman, Monkey Forest, Raya Ubud (Main street) and Dewi Sita. Shops are small with a personal touch.
Central Ubud is becoming more and more upscale and you will also find a lot of finer boutiques. Here, prices are usually fixed.
For bargains, head to Tegallalang or smaller villages and shop directly from the crafts men.

Ubud Market

Opens early in the morning selling food. During the day you find this a crowded place full of souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, fabric, locally crafted items etc.
Remember to bargain! The market is not automatically the cheapest place to shop.


Ubud’s central location in Bali makes it very easy to reach most other parts over the day.
You also reach the beach in Sanur in only 30 minutes. A tour program is available at the villas.

Every week, several Hindu ceremonies are held in different temples around Ubud. It is facinating and beautiful to watch and the people are welcoming visitors. Just remember to wear a sarong when entering temples.


A lop of people come to Bali for yoga, or want to try for the first time. There are several yoga studios and private teachers, the most famous studio is The Yoga Barn.

River Rafting

The beautiful Ayung river just west of Ubud offer fantastic views and there are several tour operators organizing river rafting. Are you brave enough?

Bali Zoo

Home to a diverse collection of more than 350 exotic animals a majority of which are indigenous to Indonesia, including rare and endangered species such as the Sumatran Elephant, Sumatran Tiger, Orangutan, Sun Bear and Binturong.

Elephant Park, Taro

An interactive elephant experience, including rides, feeding, and an elephant “talent show”. 30 beautiful Sumatran elephants, one of the most rare and endangered species of elephants left in the world today.


There are almost more spas than hotels in Ubud, and you should definitely visit one during your stay. The most luxurious ones are found on the five star hotels.


On top of a bike is a good way to view the scenery. Rent a bike or join a tour. Several tour operators organize cycling tours.

Kecak Fire Dance

Two nights a week, there is a fire dance performance organized by the community that our villas belong to.
It is a very special performance based on an old story. Tickets are available from the staff, and when buying tickets, you support the community.
